The workshop will be led by Stan Rodriguez (Kumeyaay), a pioneer of the method that was first developed by the Advocates for Indigenous California Language Survival (AICLS). The method pairs a fluent speaker with a language learner. The goal of the method is for the language learner to gain conversational language proficiency. The workshop will use a variety of hands-on activities, all designed to reinforce language use. The workshop will be useful for fluent speakers and language learners as well as for those who are seeking to start a Master/Apprentice program.
