Surrounded by mountains, bordered by a river, and geographically positioned between two stunning national parks, the University of Montana in Missoula, Mont. is undeniably one of the most picturesque campuses in the country. On our campus, from the Food Zoo to Missoula College, the beauty of the natural world is on full display in every season. And inside our classrooms, students from all walks of life actively engage in their education. Being able to show to the world everything that goes on in the UM community through high-quality photography and videography is vital.

For those reasons, your site will greatly enhance the User Experience of its visitors (and showcase the appeal of the University of Montana) by featuring the high-quality photographs to be found on the UM Photo Library.

To request access to the UM Photo Library or for assistance locating an existing photo, email andy.kemmis@mso.umt.edu or call 406-243-4674.

No Clip Art!

Clip art is a type of generic graphic art that has been widely used across the web to add visual interest to text content. However, clip art is outdated and looks cheap and unprofessional on a modern website. The fact that it is generic means that it forms no emotional connection between the site visitor and the University of Montana.

As such, we have made a hard rule that no clip art be used on any UM sites. Clip art can always be replaced with something much better, such as images of real people or places connected to the University.
