Services

  • We provide ISBC users with access to a variety of instruments for protein expression, purification and analysis.  All users must be personally trained by ISBC staff before using ISBC equipment.
  • The ISBC houses drop-setting robotics and a matrix-maker, a variety of commercially available crystallization kits, temperature-controlled incubators, and digital visible/UV fluorescence microscopes for conduct and analysis of protein crystallization experiments.
  • User or staff-conducted X-ray diffraction data collection using in-house or synchrotron beamlines, including crystal storage, harvesting, mounting, cryoprotection and shipping
  • The ISBC provides access to computational resources for structure determination by X-ray crystallography and cryo-electron microscopy.
  • Upon consultation and preparation of a Statement of Work, ISBC will undertake structure determination and refinement of macromolecular structures by X-ray crystallography; structure interpretation and preparation of materials for publication and data deposition.
  • The ISBC is a portal for access to the Montana State University Cryo-electron microscope facility (https://www.montana.edu/cryo-electron-microscopy/)
  • Upon consultation and preparation of a Statement of Work, ISBC staff undertake protein expression using bacterial, insect-cell or HEK cells, protein purification and analysis.
