Family Medicine Residency of Western Montana

Family Medicine Residency of Western MontanaThis 3-year family practice residency program, sponsored by the University of Montana in Missoula and affiliated with the University of Washington Family Medicine Residency Network, exists to provide a superior, comprehensive education in Family Medicine. The residency is committed to developing family physicians who are compassionate, clinically competent, and motivated to serve patients and communities in the rural and underserved areas of Montana. This unique program is the sole residency in Western Montana and emphasizes service to rural and medically-underserved communities around Montana. First-year residents practice at our partner sites at Partnership Health Center, Community Medical Center, and Providence St. Patrick Hospital; three residents from each class match with the Kalispell track to spend their second and third years practicing in the Flathead Valley at Kalispell Regional Healthcare and Flathead Community Health Center.
