Experiential Learning

The Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies Program is proud to be affiliated with many campus and the Missoula organizations. If you are interested in signing up for an internship with one of our affiliated organizations, please contact Cheryl Minnick in the Career Planning Office of the College of Humanities and Sciences.

Blue Mountain Clinic: Blue Mountain Clinic

Provides patient-centered, family practice and primary care services to the local community through a choice-based perspective. We believe that choices in any health care decision should be met with dignity in a supportive environment. Blue Mountain Clinic strives to provide feminist-based approaches to health care, education and advocacy in the region. Essential activities to fulfill this mission require visible advocacy on the local level to improve policies that have a negative impact on patients’ economic and political access to health care.

Gender Expansion Project

The Gender Expansion Project’s mission is to promote gender-inclusive education and awareness surrounding transgender, transsexual, intersex and gender diverse people through evidence-based care, education, research, advocacy, public and private policy and respect for transgender health and wellbeing.

Women's Resource Center

We are a student-run, consensus-based organization dedicated to raising awareness of women's and gender issues. We provide a current list of organizations and professionals that serve and assist women in Western Montana, as well as a safe place to meet people interested in discussing and actively responding to pertinent issues in our community. Our mission is to actively represent 21st-century feminism as a dynamic discipline concerned with all issues of gender and inequality.  We are serious about advancing our agenda of tolerance, education and equality, but we love to have fun while we do it. Our membership is crucial, in determining the growth and activity of The Women's Center.  Everyone is welcome; come join our collective! Located in UC 210, our office is open Monday through Friday during the school year, at variable hours.

LAMBDA

The University of Montana Lambda Alliance seeks to increase the visibility and acceptance of the LGBTQIA community through education, advocacy, and the promotion of social tolerance. Welcome to the University of Montana Lambda Alliance Website! This is where you can get information about Lambda and our up-and-coming events! We attempt to update at least once a week to keep you informed of Lambda! We meet almost every Tuesday on the third floor of the UC, come look for our room!

Student Advocacy Resource Center (SARC)

We celebrate diversity, support the right of all students to pursue success in our academic community, openly respect and care for everyone and are committed to a campus free from discrimination and unwelcome physical, sexual, emotional or social coercion. It is our goal that every interaction and every communication be respectful, considerate, professional and supportive.
