UDASH Bus Operator
UDASH bus drivers are the most highly-paid student employees at the University of Montana, starting at $16.00/hr. Leadership opportunities are available with additional compensation. Drivers learn how to safely and efficiently operate a bus and are responsible for delivering thousands of passengers safely each day. No CDL is required to apply. Applicants must have a current driver’s license (any state), be at least 18 years old, and be enrolled in at least 6 credits at the University of Montana or Missoula College for fall semester. Pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screening are required as part of compliance with the Federal Transit Administration. Applicants must work a minimum weekly average of 6 hours and a total of 9 hours of special events shuttles that can be driven throughout the academic year.
Post-graduation benefits: CDL vehicle experience in conjunction with a UM degree.
Our paid summer training course runs Jul 22nd-August 16th. There are 8 spots available for the class.
Application due July 8th, 2024 to ensure enough time to complete screening and obtain CDL permit before the class begins.
