Departmental Undergraduate Scholarships

The purpose of the Albert Blumenthal Scholarship in sociology is to provide an annual award to a full-time student at The University of Montana. The recipient must be a sociology major who has demonstrated academic achievement.

The Fund will provide scholarships to University of Montana undergraduate students in the Department of Sociology according to the following guidelines: Students in the University of Montana who are majoring in sociology with an option in criminology and who are either conducting research related to criminology or participating in credit-bearing internships related to criminology. Financial need (as determined by the Financial Aid Office or its equivalent in existence at the time of the award) may be considered as a tiebreaker.

The purpose of the Eloise Baird Boldt Memorial Sociology Scholarship is to provide an annual award covering a majority of resident tuition and fees for a student majoring in sociology who has financial need, possesses academic aptitude and holds traditional values.

The purpose of the Henry and Fannie Clift Kain and Daniel and Jessie McKay Scholarship is to provide an annual award to an undergraduate student at the University of Montana with preference given to those majoring in, or expecting to major in, the social sciences.
