Elective Courses

Nine (9) credits of electives are required for completion of the MSW program.  Various electives are offered each semester.  Elective courses add different perspectives enhancing your general knowledge and allow you to study topics that interest you.  Often electives are taken during your concentration year and are outlined in you individualized learning plan.  Be sure to choose electives that compliment an area of emphasis you are interested in and approved by your advisor.

Keep in mind that a maximum of 6 elective credits at the 400 level will count toward graduation and only if they are approved for graduate use.  Three credits need to be completed within the School of Social Work and three elective credits must be completed at the 500 level or above.  For more information please review the MSW Student Handbook and talk with your advisor.
