Dropping Classes

Instructions for dropping classes are available on the How to Register page.

Deadlines for dropping classes in Summer Semester 2024 are posted below. Use the jump links below to review deadlines that correspond with the following sessions.

10-Week Session: May 20 - July 26

7-Week Session I: May 13 - June 28   |   7-Week Session II: July 1 - August 16 

5-Week Session I: May 20 - June 21   |   5-Week Session II: June 24 - July 26 

Special Sessions: Variable Dates

To drop your last remaining or only class in the summer semester (regardless of which session), submit a semester withdrawal form instead.

10-Week Session

May 20 - July 26, 2024

Through June 3: Go to CyberBear → Student Services → Registration → Register for Classes. Course drops generate refunds where applicable.

June 4 - June 28: Submit request in CyberBear → Student ServicesCourse Add, Change, Drop.

  • Instructor approval is required.
  • Drop request is subject to a $20 fee and no refund.
  • W appears on transcript.

June 29 - July 25: Submit request in CyberBear → Student ServicesCourse Add, Change, Drop.

  • Instructor and dean approvals are required.
  • Drop request is subject to a $20 fee and no refund.
  • WP or WF appears on transcript. (Withdrawn/Passing or Withdrawn/Failing)

July 26 and beyond: July 26 is designated for final exams. Registration changes are not permitted on or after the final exam day. Contact (406) 243-5600 or registration@umontana.edu regarding registration errors.

7-Week Session I

May 13 - June 28, 2024
