Work/Internship Opportunities

The MMAC offers a variety of ways for UM students to get involved. Volunteering, work-study positions, or internships at the museum provide students with excellent opportunities to learn about art and art handling, museum operations, and much more. Volunteer work and internships allow students to interface with our collection, and include tasks such as researching, cataloging, and transporting the MMAC's holdings and installing exhibitions. The MMAC also regularly hires UM work-study students as gallery attendants. If you're interested in any of these opportunities, please contact us at museum@mso.umt.edu

Students Teaching Students

Students Teaching Students is a partnership between the MMAC, the School of Visual and Media Arts, and the UM Writing Program. As part of this program, students enrolled in Writing 101 and 201 have the opportunity to reflect upon and write about the art on view at the museum. Upper-level and graduate students in art and art history provide an introduction and contextual information to these students as they lead their peers through the museum galleries.
