Nick's work with (2-pyridyl)urea organocatalysts is accepted by Supramolecular Chemistry.
The relationship between peripheral steric groups and the active site of (2-pyridyl)urea organocatalysts was explored in the solid state and in solution. The findings show that guest binding conformation in the solid state can be controlled, and small increases in the size of steric groups will severely attenuate catalyst activity in regards to nitro group binding. This research may be applied to the design of future organocatalysts with higher functional group selectivity.

Jiyu's exploration of the solvatochromic and fluorescent properties of a bis(ethynyl) halogen bonding receptor is published in the New Journal of Chemistry.
Dylan Budke joins the Berryman Research Group.
Congrats to Dan Decato on winning the Besancon scholarship.
April
Nick Wageling wins award for giving the best graduate research presentation in his category at Grad Con, a UM GPSA-sponsored event.
Congrats to Dan Decato on winning the Bertha Morton fellowship.
