  •  Ph.D. Committee is normally three UM anthropology faculty. Dissertation committee is five UM faculty, one of whom is from a department other than anthropology. In all cases the Chair of a Ph.D. or dissertation committee must be a UM anthropology faculty member. Give your selections to the Anthropology Administrative Assistant, who will forward them to the Grad School.
  • This procedure requires submission of a form to the Graduate School. This procedure will have a deadline each semester. Please check the current course schedule or contact the Graduate School to find out about these deadlines.
  • Remedial classes: One class in each of the four subfields (archaeology, linguistics, physical, socio-cultural) and a class in statistics are required prior to graduations if not taken during your undergraduate career. Your advisor may assign other remedial classes if your undergraduate career did not include classes that he/she was expecting you to have taken.
