From Dioramas to Dinosaurs: The Impacts of Montana Museums and Exploring Paleontological Tourism

Trex skeleton in a museum

The study is designed with a dual focus: firstly, to explore the overall impacts of museums across Montana, examining their social, educational, and economic contributions, along with their community engagement strategies. Secondly, it will dive specifically into paleontology museums, aiming to gain a comprehensive understanding of how the Montana Dinosaur Trail and paleo-tourism influence local economies, community development, and visitor experiences.

This project is about to kick off, and ITRR staff will be hitting the road this summer to survey museum visitors across the state! If you see us this summer, be sure to say hi!
