Temporary Part-Time Survey Interviewer Opportunity – Indiana Dunes National Park – $20 per hour

The Institute for Tourism and Recreation Research (ITRR) is seeking qualified candidates to assist with visitor experience-based survey research projects in multiple national parks in 2024.

We are interested in hiring a surveyor (preferably a UM student) who is energetic, outgoing, and able to easily approach park visitors and interview them about their experience at Indiana Dunes National Park. Data collection takes place over 10 days; positions require approximately 6-7 hours of work each day, with one day off during that period.

Surveyors are responsible for timely work completion and must be able to meet scheduling and quota requirements. Strong organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail are required. Familiarity with the general operation of tablets is a plus. Accommodations, per diem, and transportation costs will be provided.

  • Please respond with a cover letter describing your interest, qualifications and availability, along with a current resume and contact information for three professional references, to Elena Bigart: elena.bigart@umontana.edu. Positions are open until filled.

ITRR has conducted research on travel, recreation, and tourism since 1987. Its overall mission is to provide information that will help the tourism and recreation industry make informed decisions about planning, promotion, and management.
