Student Athlete Academic Center

The Student Athlete Academic Center is an addition to the University Of Montana campus that in-fills an underutilized space between the existing Adams Center and the adjacent Wellness Center. It meets a growing demand on campus for private student-athlete study and tutoring spaces. The addition features a new second story with technology-enhanced study space, including a large open study area, private tutoring rooms, and a conference room.

The addition also accommodates other UM offices and additional ticketing windows for arena events. A full basement is included in the addition, creating space for a locker room project to be developed in the future. The project is certified LEED Gold.

Sustainable features include energy efficient lighting controls, low-emitting paints and sealants, CRI Green Label Plus certified carpet, LED lighting, and extra building insulation. The storefront glazing system is highly energy efficient and provides natural light throughout the open study room. The energy-efficient mechanical system helps the Student Athlete Academic Center to save more than 27% on energy costs. Water-efficient plumbing fixtures reduce water consumption by more than 35%.
