MSW Tuition and Fees

Tuition and fees for Advanced Standing students are estimated to be $6,000 during the summer semester for Montana residents and $16,000 for non-resident students. The following Fall and Spring semesters are estimated at $8,500 for resident students and $21,000 for nonresident students for each semester. These estimates include the University’s tuition and fees as well as the School of Social Work’s program fee and field education fee.

The Field Education fee supports the implementation and maintenance of several practicum-related activities including the field liaison model that enhances the connection between classroom and practicum experience for students, outside supervision for students, agency field instructor training, and field education administrative support.

The above figures are estimates. Each student is encouraged to contact Business Services and/or visit the Business Services Student Tuition and Fees website for more information regarding costs.

The School of Social Work offers several scholarships in addition to the financial aid that the University's Financial Aid department can offer. You can find more information on departmental scholarships here. Also, visit the UM Financial Aid Office for access to the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) application and other university aid.
