Course Evaluations

About Course Evaluations

Each faculty member must have at least one course evaluated each semester (CBA 10.220). Starting Spring 2023, evaluations administered by the UFA-Admin Committee are conducted through Qualtrics Course Feedback Surveys. This instance of Qualtrics is separate from the university-wide system used for research.

Not all units have elected to use this system. Contact your department chair or program director to confirm the evaluation system used by your unit.

Access Your Qualtrics Dashboard

Your profile in this system is not currently linked to your net ID or Microsoft login. New users will receive an email from Qualtrics with their username and temporary password after evaluations launch each term. Your username is your @umontana.edu email address and your password for this system will be distinct from your other university passwords unless you choose the same password.

Feedback survey results will be made available for each term after grades have rolled. To access your feedback dashboard, log in using your @umontana.edu email at Qualtrics Login page.

  • A Survey Progress dashboard is available each term to allow faculty to monitor participation rates during the feedback period.
  • Surveys for Spring, Summer, and part-of-term courses for Autumn 2023.
  • Feedback from the revised survey launched at the end of Autumn 2023, including any additional instructor-selected questions.

New instructors will gain access to the system prior the survey launch date to ensure they are able to participation rates and access their feedback in a timely fashion. If you have any problems accessing the system please email: course.evaluations@mso.umt.edu

Additional Feedback Options

There are a multitude of methods for evaluating teaching effectiveness. Review your unit standards and contact your chair for discipline specific options. We also encourage faculty to consider Small Group Analysis Feedback and Classroom Observations via The Pedagogy Project.
