UM Plans for Fall 2022

Dear Students,

UM is excited to welcome you to campus in the fall as we shift our emphasis back to in-person instruction. After two years of courses affected by COVID-19, it will be wonderful to have primarily face-to-face learning this fall.

Below are current plans and guidelines for fall 2022 and the contact information for many of our student support services. Please watch for updates via your UM email over the summer.

Accommodations for Students

As UM returns to primarily face-to-face classes, we anticipate most students will attend classes in person. If you need a COVID-related accommodation in order to attend class, email the Office of Disability Equity at ODE@umontana.edu. ODE will work with you and your advisor on a case-by-case basis.

Course Options

The list of course modalities and associated fees are outlined on this Distance Learning for Students webpage. Note the "Remote" modality will no longer be used, and courses conducted entirely via Zoom will fall under the “Video Conferencing” modality.

Mental Health

UM offers many programs and services to promote your emotional and mental well-being. All students are encouraged to take advantage of the resources and services offered by Curry Health Center.

Counseling: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Appointments are scheduled as telecounseling or in person through the Curry Health portal or by calling 406-243-4712.

Curry Health Center Wellness: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday in Curry Health Center Room 112. Call 406-243-2809 for more information.

Academic Support for Students

The Office for Student Success is open for in-person and remote academic support services to students from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Email OSS at officeforstudentsuccess@mso.umt.edu or call 406-243-2800.

OSS provides support for academic achievement through Study Jam, The Math Learning Center and The Writing and Public Speaking Center. Services are offered across campus in various locations, including the Payne Family Native American Center and the Branch Center. A schedule for academic services is available online.

Branch Center: The Branch Center is dedicated to supporting student diversity and inclusion. The center is open whenever the University Center is open for individuals and groups to use for social and academic engagement and DEI advocacy.

Financial Education: In-person and virtual individual appointments are available with our financial coaches. To schedule a one-on-one appointment, call 406-243-2800 or email financialeducation@umontana.edu

I hope that the rest of the spring semester goes well for you and that you have a terrific summer!
