Personal Summary

Jamie Ryan Lockman joined the University of Montana Institute on Ecosystems in 2023 as a Fiscal and Program Coordinator. This role enables her to use her rich and varied experiences in business and marketing, nonprofits, agriculture, anthropology, research, and more. She has done professional archaeological fieldwork in the Pacific Northwest; written and obtained numerous federal, state, and private grants; organized successful agricultural conferences; founded an organic farming nonprofit; and was an invited delegate for Governor Steve Bullock's trade mission to Taiwan and Korea. She is adept at building beneficial networks and partnerships and strives to ensure that they result in inclusive collaborations that respect the diversity, equity, and dignity of all involved.

Jamie grew up in Missoula and spent nine years on her and her husband's wheat farm in Poplar, Montana. She and her family returned to Missoula in 1999, moving into University of Montana family housing so her husband, Clem, could return to school.

Hobbies

Jamie enjoys gardening, Flathead Lake, paddle boarding, hiking, and skiing, and she tries to get on the yoga mat.
