Law School Admissions

Practice-Focused From the Beginning

Guided by a highly dedicated faculty who know what it takes to practice the law, at the Blewett School of Law you focus on learning what lawyers do every day. Our students thrive in an experience-rich environment that integrates theory and practice, offering real-world experience so our students can hit the ground running.

Collegiality Over Competition

The class size of approximately 80 incoming law students each year allows for small seminars and individualized learning in a tight-knit community that fosters close and respectful working relationships.

Make a Difference

Through our nationally-recognized programs in American Indian law and environmental and natural resources law, our extensive pro bono program and our broad array of clinical offerings, you can serve your community while in law school at the same time you hone your practice skills. After graduation, you will have the advantages of our network of judges and practitioners, opening doors to careers of meaning.

Nondiscrimination Policy

The University of Montana is committed to providing an environment that emphasizes the dignity and worth of every member of its community and adheres to admissions and retention policies that provide its applicants and students with equal opportunity to attend free from harassment and discrimination based upon race, color, religion, national origin, creed, service in the uniformed services (as defined in state and federal law), veteran status, sex, age, political ideas, marital or family status, pregnancy, physical or mental disability, genetic information, gender identity, gender expression, or sexual orientation.

In conforming with this policy, and policies promulgated by organizations providing the Law School with accreditation (the American Bar Association and the Association of American Law Schools), the School of Law adheres to a policy of non-discrimination that prohibits the use of admission policies or other actions to preclude admission of applicants or retention of students on the basis of race, color, ethnicity, religion, national origin, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, disability, or military status.

Our application opens on September 1st and closes on July 15th.
