Sabbatical - Procedure

Faculty:

Sabbaticals are granted to permanent faculty members for the purpose of encouraging scholarly and professional achievement for the mutual benefit of the University of Montana and grantee.  Sabbaticals are granted for either one or two semesters.  Human Resource Services is notified by the Provost’s Office of any faculty members taking sabbatical leave.  A list of sabbatical assignments will then be forwarded to the appropriate Employee Services Representative (ESR).

Salary is paid to faculty members while on sabbatical according to the terms described on the Regent’s Contract or Request for Personnel Transaction Form (RPT), with the Provost’s approval and in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.

Employees on sabbatical assignment paid by The University of Montana are eligible for employee benefits.
