Post Retiree Increase - Procedure

Faculty members of all units of The University of Montana who are working under post-retirement contracts are awarded increases each year, if eligible, based on the average increase given to active faculty.  The amount of these increases must be communicated to Teachers’ Retirement System so that the final average salary limitations can be increased.

Human Resource Services will contact the provosts’ office in June of each year to obtain the amount of the increases awarded for the new fiscal and academic year.  Our office will then inform Teachers’ Retirement System of the increases for the Missoula campus and all affiliated campuses, and copy key personnel on each affiliate campus.  Salaries may then be increased at the appropriate time following normal personnel and payroll policies.
