Lifetime Privileges Policy and Procedure

Policy Number: 118.0

LIFETIME PRIVILEGES

I. OBJECTIVE

This policy provides for consistent administration of the Lifetime Privileges benefit. The
University of Montana-Missoula awards the Lifetime Privileges Card to eligible employees in
recognition of dedicated service.

II. ELIGIBILITY

University employees with at least 15 years of service will receive Lifetime Privileges, effective
upon retirement. Only the retiree may receive the benefits provided by the card; such benefits
shall not transfer to any other individual. A spouse or other family member will not inherit the
benefits upon the death of the retired employee. However, the spouse may continue the
privileges for a one-year grace period following the death of the retiree.

III. BENEFITS

(A) Two complimentary tickets to each University-sponsored athletic event
(B) Faculty/staff discounts on two season tickets or faculty/staff discounts on two
tickets per event for theatrical productions, athletic events, art shows, and other
events directly sponsored by The University of Montana-Missoula.
(C) Borrowing privileges at the Mansfield Library.
(D) Campus parking privileges for one vehicle per retiree.
(E) Discounts in The Bookstore at The University of Montana, as determined by The
Bookstore Board.
(F) Faculty/staff complimentary service on the Mountain Line bus.

PROCEDURE

The Department of Human Resources will notify the Griz Card Center at the completion of
retirement counseling when the employee has signed the appropriate retirement papers.
The Griz Card Center will then change the employee's Griz Card status to Retired with
Lifetime Privileges. The retiree may then secure Lifetime Privileges using the Griz Card.
The University of Montana Griz Card Center will issue a Griz Card with Lifetime Privileges
to the retiree if he/she does not have a Griz Card at the time of retirement.
The Griz Card with Lifetime Privileges replaces the previously issued Gold Card. Those
currently holding the Gold Card will continue to receive Lifetime Privileges. Campus
offices and departments will continue to honor the Gold Card.
Individuals receiving Lifetime Privileges using the Gold Card at the time this policy is
issued who do not meet the above eligibility requirements will continue receiving
privileges, but remain subject to all other provisions of this policy.
