History Teaching Minor

History Teaching Requirements (Grades 5-12)

For an endorsement in the minor teaching field of History a student must complete the courses in the minor teaching field listed below or demonstrate course equivalency. NOTE: Teaching minors require completion of a teaching major in another field.

 

Choose 1 of the following:

HSTR 101H Western Civilization I (4 credits)

HSTR 102H Western Civilization II (4 credits)

 

Complete the following courses:

HSTA 101H American History I (4 credits)

HSTA 102H American History II (4 credits)

HSTR 200 Intro to Historical Methods (1 credit)

HSTA 255 Montana History (3 credits)

HSTR electives in Asian, Islamic, African, and Latin America (3 credits)

HSTR electives in Asian, Islamic, African, and Latin America (3 credits)

HSTA Upper-division course in American History (3 credits)

HSTR Upper-division course in European History (3 credits)

EDU 497 Methods: 5-12 Social Studies, coreq EDU 395 (3 credits)

Total Credits: 31
