Where did you attend college?

The University of Montana - Missoula.

What brought you to Montana?

I came to Missoula from Homer, Alaska to attend college. I had visited Montana on family vacations when I was young and had always wanted to come back and live. Montana is very similar to Alaska except you have four seasons! I met my husband while I was in school and never left.

Why did you choose to be part of the Family Medicine Residency of Western Montana?

After graduation I began working as an Administrative Associate for the Center for Structural & Functional Neuroscience within the Department of Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Sciences on campus. After 4 1/2 years, I took a short hiatus from UM to work with children and learned to cook. I joined the Western MT Area Health Education Center in 2009 and have assisted with the development of the FMRWM since it's inception.

What are your interests outside the University and FMRWM?

My husband and I have a young daughter and we enjoy hiking, skiing and gardening.

What do you love about Western Montana?

The people are down to earth, the scenery is amazing, and the access to the outdoors is not a logistical nightmare.

What’s your favorite book?

I am an avid reader and have multiple favorites; here are two: Coming Into the Country by John McPhee and The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck.
