The Lodge Dining Center

Campus Dining is excited to be opening the door of our newest location, The Lodge Dining Center! This facility has been designed to accommodate over 900 students, faculty, staff, and guests! Whether you’re on a residential dining plan, commuter dining plan, or Bear Bucks, you will have full access to this comfortable all-you-care-to-eat dining center, featuring seven unique concepts, roof decks with views of the Oval, and floor-to-ceiling fireplace. The Lodge Dining Center caters to all tastes and many dietary allergens/preferences. Explore our locations and see what true Montana has to offer.

Square + Compass

Enjoy American favorites like juicy burgers (including veggie patties), grilled chicken breasts, and Carolina-style BBQ pulled pork sandwiches. Square + Compass features our local community partner, KOP Beef, with their grass-fed, KettleHouse brewer’s grain-finished burger from Turah, Montana. Explore our grill specials, including Thai pork burgers, Cubano sandwiches, Bahn Mi burgers, and bison burgers; all part of our four-week rotating menu. Don’t miss out on weekly traditions like grilled cheese and tomato soup every Tuesday or our famous Chicken Strip Night, now served for both lunch and dinner every Thursday - that’s over 1,700 strips! Square + Compass is open for late night, Monday-Friday 7 PM until 10 PM.

Yow & Yee

Inspired by the historic Pekin Noodle Parlor of Butte, Montana, the oldest family-owned, continuously operating Chinese restaurant in the nation since 1909, Yow & Yee features made-to-order noodles on a Mongolian grill. You can choose from a variety of rotating proteins, vegetables, sauces, and homemade broths. Add an egg roll, pot sticker or soup to enhance your meal.

La Mesa de Lula

Our Latin American inspired station allows you to create your own specialty, choosing from: a variety of fresh toppings, mouthwatering proteins like Al Pastor, barbacoa or seasoned local-ground beef, and traditional sauces like chimichurri, adobo, and tomatillo. Each Friday we offer golden-browned fry bread, perfect for making Indian Tacos.

Sa Fire

Sa Fire is inspired by the Sapphire Mountains of southwestern Montana. Enjoy our scrumptious pizzas featuring house-made dough or a pasta toss of your creation! Sa Fire combines the essence of Montana’s natural beauty with the comfort of classic Italian flavors.

Sallies

Sallies is a tribute to Mrs. Sallie Brown, an early Montana African American settler, baker, wife, mother, entrepreneur, and former slave. Sallie opened New City Bakery, offering fresh bread, cakes, pies, and confectionery. At Sallies, enjoy specialty desserts, bar treats, and cookies from our own Bear Claw Bakery, crafted with the same dedication and passion that Sallie brought to her bakery. We proudly serve Montana-made Wilcoxson’s novelty ice cream, grab a huckleberry sandwich!

Terra

Terra offers both international, ethnic cuisines and comforting, homestyle dishes. Catch the action and feel the heat as our team of chefs prepare dishes from around the world right in front of you. Craving comfort food? Terra also serves up classics from roasted chicken, macaroni-n-cheese, and a weekly carving station.

Beargrass

Beargrass offers a bountiful salad bar featuring fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. Much of our produce is harvested from the Iron Griz Garden, a ¼-acre garden located just six blocks from campus or locally purchased, reflecting our commitment to sustainability and farm-to-table dining. Beargrass also featuring from-scratch soups, deli delights and breakfast bowls.

Allergen-Friendly Zone

This location is free from gluten, wheat, dairy, tree nuts, and peanuts and offers a variety of items to complement your experience at The Lodge Dining Center. If you have a food allergy, our registered dietitian, Laura Granlund is also available to help you through your dining experience at UM.
