Volunteer Experience:

Ice Patch Archaeology Field Work, Beartooth Mountains, Carbon County, Montana. Volunteer field work lead by Dr. Craig Lee to collect dendrochronological samples from trees melting out of high-altitude ice patches (September 2013).

Project Archaeology, Montana State University and Bureau of Land Management. Site Steward of Castle Butte, an expansive rock art site located east of Billings, Montana (July 2016).

Western Heritage Center, Billings Montana. Volunteer work in the special collections room organizing, re-boxing, and re-labeling artifacts. Assisting with research and information compilation for National Register Nomination for Riverside Park, Laurel, Montana (May 2019 – Present)

Historic Archaeology (ANTY 551), Missoula, Montana. Public archaeology project with Cranky Sam Public House, researching and describing artifacts found during prior fieldwork for display (Fall Semester 2020).

Urban Archaeology Field Work, Missoula, Montana. Volunteer field work led by doctoral candidate Nikki Manning to excavate a stairwell in the basement of a historic building to determine its uses over time. (March 2021).

Hobbies

I enjoy reading fantasy and sci-fi fiction, board games, cooking, mountain biking, hiking, and identifying animal bones. My preferred pronouns are she/her and my last name is pronounced "MIKE," like the first name.
