UMOnline provides high-quality University of Montana courses to fit the busy lives of students. Online courses are offered through Blackboard, an Internet-based system which provides the tools necessary to engage effectively in studies.
If you are thinking of taking an online course and would like to learn more about online learning, visit the Prospective Students pages.
If you are currently enrolled as a student, visit the Current Students page or see which online courses are being offered.
Students who intend to enroll only in online courses may opt to change their student status to "Distance." Doing so will result in reduced tuition and fees. Distance students are not required to submit an immunization form before being admitted. It is important to note that Distance students are not eligible for The University of Montana Health Insurance, Curry Health Center services, discounted tickets for athletic events or access to Campus Recreation Services. Distance students are not eligible to take on-campus courses.
To change your status, download, complete and sign the Distance Learning Change of Status Form. The form must be completed again to change your status back to "On-Campus". Your status may be changed only one time per semester. Submit the completed form to Enrollment Services at LO103, or by fax: 406-243-5711.
Faculty and staff may select the Instructional Design & Development or Faculty & Staff Resources links for further information on services provided.
