The University of Montana

The Workers' Compensation Program at UM

First of all, the University of Montana (UM), as part of the Montana University System (MUS), wants all UM employees to arrive safely at work, to be able to perform one’s respective job duties in a safe manner and in a safe environment, and then to be able to return home safely.
However, sometimes there occurs an event such that the employee is injured on the job, or after several months there’s an increase in pain in a muscle or joint that may be linked to some repetitive task performed at work over time.

Step One - Fill out a First Report of Injury form (with your supervisor if possible)

we STRONGLY encourage you to use the electronic verson as we have phased out the paper version. Please sign a paper copy of the electronic version and send to EHRM via UM campus mail.

Step Two - Read the instruction sheet and we suggest your supervisor read it also.
