It is the policy of the University of Montana to provide and promote a safe and healthy work environment. Accidents are viewed as lapses in our ability to accomplish this objective.  Each individual employee is responsible for workplace safety. Supervisors are responsible for requiring safe work practices for their employees.  EHRM is charged with assuring employees that the work place is safe by working with all parties to identify and correct any unsafe areas or practices while at the same time coordinate the timely occurence of safety meetings and availability of safety articles and videos.
