Recent concerts have featured the music of Frank Zappa, Pat Metheny, Coldplay and GONG.  The group has performed with some of the top percussionists including – on drumset, Steve Smith, Horacio “El Negro” Hernandez, Gregg Bissonette, Will Kennedy, Chris Wabich and Steve Houghton;  on marimba – Mark Ford and Julie Spencer; on vibraphone – Ed Saindon, Arthur Lipner and Gary Gibson; on latin percussion – Jesus Diaz, Lalo Davila, Luis Benetti and the Afro-Cuban All Stars out of Oakland.   The group can be heard on a Fall (November) and Spring Concert (April) as well as at events like the annual Fusion Concert.  The Percussion Ensemble was the featured ensemble at the 2013 UM Odyssey of the Stars event in March.  The ensemble has been invited to perform throughout the region and tours periodically.  The ensembles are open to percussion majors and non-majors.  However, non-majors are required to audition for admission into the groups as there are limited spots.
