MMAC Hopes to Build a State-of-the-Art Facility
MMAC is without a home. Currently, we can show only one half of one percent of the Permanent Collection at any one time in our galleries, and we are hindered in our ability to grow the collection due to limited storage space. The museum utilizes seven work and storage locations on and off campus--not an efficient way to do business. The need is critical.
MMAC's new state-of-the-art building will enable us to showcase internationally acclaimed exhibitions, national touring exhibitions, and works from the permanent collection, including Montana regional art. Members of MMAC's Campaign Cabinet conferred with John Hilberry Museum Consulting (New York City) and A&E Architects (Missoula and Billings), whose findings indicate that a 33,000 square foot building, with features detailed here, would meet our present and anticipated needs.
We are searching for support from donors who understand the importance of a museum in the context of a liberal arts university and its role as a cultural destination for learners of all ages. We envision a state-of-the-art facility that preserves the legacy of the past, while reaching out to enlighten, enrich, and inspire future generations.
We invite you to help make this vision a reality through a contribution in support of the Montana Museum of Art & Culture building fund.
