Project go

The Defense Critical Language & Culture Program at The University of Montana is proud to offer the Project GO (Global Officers) scholarship to eligible ROTC cadets with at least one year of Arabic. Project GO is a nationwide program providing oversees training in critical languages, exclusively on the languages of Middle East, Asia, Central Asia, and Africa countries for ROTC students.  Eligibility is contingent upon contract status and fulfilling language pre-requisites.  The ROTC student must be in either a “contracted” status or will become contracted before graduation. 

Who is eligible for the UM scholarship program?

  • US citizens
  • ROTC students in good standing and with at least one year of Arabic
  • Any majors
  • Students and non-students of The University of Montana
  • Contracted or future contracted ROTC cadets

What is funded?

  • Partial or full funding for tuition, room and board, travel cost and living expenses for an 8-week Arabic language summer program in Morocco.

  • Project GO participates may be eligible for language training incentive pay. Please contact your ROTC unit for more details.
  • There are a limited number of available openings, thus we encourage you to apply early.
  • Enhance your Arabic comprehension, speaking, reading and writing.
