In 2008, through the bid process, The University of Montana purchased Cascade Server by Hannon Hill. The University required a content management system (CMS) that utilized push technology and was code agnostic in order to meet the diverse needs of multiple customers running websites written in multiple languages running on multiple platforms.
The content management system is a Web-based application that provides a central place for website creation and editing. It has many technical benefits and provides a WYSIWYG (what-you-see-is-what-you-get) editing interface. You no longer need to know HTML or complicated software programs to create a professional, attractive and clean Web site that also adheres to the university's visual identity standards. You may edit your Web site from any computer that has access to to the Internet.
