Configuring Outlook 2010 for POP/IMAP

1.  Open Outlook. Click on the File tab. Click on Info, then click on the drop down arrow in Account Settings and select Account Settings.

2.  On the Accounts Settings window, click on the E-mail tab, then New.

3.  Select E-mail Account. Click Next.

 4.  On the Auto Account Setup page, do not enter any information. At the bottom of the page, click in the check box next to Manually configure server settings or additional server types. Click Next.

5. In Add New Account, select Internet E-mail.

6.  In Add New Email Account window, provide the following information:

  • User Information:
    • Your Name: enter the name you want users to see when you send email from this account.
    • Email Address: enter your MSO email address.
  • Server Information:
    • Account Type:  IMAP or POP3
    • Incoming mail server:
    • In the Outgoing mail server (SMTP):
  • Logon information:
    • User Name:  your name (first.last)
    • Password: your MSO password

Do NOT check Require login using Secure Password Authentication (SPA).

7.  Click Next.

8. On the Add New Email Account page, click Next.

9.  On the Congratulations page, click Finish.

10.  If the Account Settings page displays, click Close.
