Configuring Entourage to check your UMConnect email account

  1. In Entourage, from Tools, click Accounts.
  2. Accounts window:
    • Click New.
  3. New Account window:
    •  Add new mail account, select select POP or IMAP.
    • Click OK.
  4. Edit Account page, under Account name, type a name for this account. (i.e. UMConnect).
  5. Personal Information:
    • Name:  your name as you want it to appear in the "From" field of your outgoing messages.
    • E-mail address:  your e-mail address: NetID@UMConnect.umt.edu
  6. Receiving mail:
    • Account ID: your e-mail address: NetID@UMConnect.umt.edu
    • IMAP or POP server: outlook.com
    • Password: your NetID password. If you want to save your password, you can select "Save password in my Mac OS keychain".
    • Click Click here for advanced receiving options.
      • Check This IMAP service requires a secure connection (SSL).
    • Override default IMAP: 993
    • Click Close.
  7. Sending mail:
    • SMTP server: pod51000.outlook.com
    • Click Click here for advanced sending options.
      • Check SMTP service requires secure connection (SSL).
      • Port: 587
      • Check SMTP server requires authentication.
      • Select Use same settings as receiving mail server
      • Click Close.
  8. Edit Account box:
    • Click OK.
  9. Accounts dialog box:
    • Click Close.
