Resolving Interpersonal and Intragroup Conflict It's often far easier to find our way into a conflict than out. This interactive three-hour session will help participants develop tools for successful conflict resulution. Participants will identify their own approach to conflict, increase their ability to understand what motivates their own and others' behavior, and practice applying effective intervention strategies. The Happiness Project: Practical Strategies for Changing the Way You Think, Feel, and Live. This workshop series examines the nature of happiness and psychological wellbeing by drawing on groundbreaking research from the fields of psychology, neuroscience, sociology, and medicine. The series will cover topics such as emotional intelligence, resilience, personal growth and change, and flourishing relationships. The classes will also offer practices that you can engage in to develop positive mental and emotional states such as gratitude, mindfulness, flow, and self-compassion.

This workshop will give you an overview of what is being done to create a sustainable campus and to incorporate sustainability in the curriculum. You will learn what you can do from recycling to energy conservation. This workshop will also give you ideas on steps you can take to create sustainability at home. Working Across Cultural Contexts Created especially for employees at The University of Montana, this workshop will be built around participants with examples of puzzling, frustrating, or misunderstood encounters with clients/students who may come from different cultural backgrounds than the participants. The basics of different cultural contexts will be briefly explained and participants will discuss the scenarios they have self-generated based on the notion of contextual values that impact behaviors and communication styles. Developing Effective Teams As a supervisor, you understand that the amount of work produced by a group of employees can be limited to individual efforts. While this may be somewhat effective, these efforts are frequently undermined by interpersonal conflicts and personal agendas. When employees are part of a team, they generate greater results with better consistency. Teams also thrive on being challenged and the members of a team are more committed.
