ANNUAL LEAVE




What is the accrual rate for annual leave?
Faculty on fiscal year appointments and fiscal year academic administrators accrue annual leave on a monthly basis at the rate of 14 hours per month.

Contract Administrators and Contract Professionals accrue annual leave on a monthly basis. The accrual rate depends on the number of years of employment. New employees and those with less than 10 years of service begin accruing annual leave at the rate of 10 hours per pay period (15 days/year).

Staff accrue annual leave on a bi-weekly basis. The accrual rate depends on the number of years of employment. New employees and those with less than 10 years of service begin accruing annual leave at the rate of 4.62 hours per pay period (15 days/year).

Generally a non-academic employee who is continuously employed for a period of at least six months will earn annual leave.

All eligible positions working less than full-time accrue at a prorated rate.




When is an employee eligible to take annual leave?
An employee must be continuously employed for the qualifying period of six months to use annual leave.
