ELI Classes

At the English Language Institute (ELI), students are in class for 20 hours a week. There are 5 levels of instruction from beginning to advanced level. Students' classes will include the study of speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary development, cross cultural issues and integrated skills. The goal of all the classes is to ultimately prepare students for university level studies. See the class descriptions for more details.

The English Language Institute also offers a Bridge Program which gives students an opportunity to register for one University of Montana 100-level credit-bearing courses at the same time that they are enrolled in ELI. In support of their university classes, Bridge-Program participants attend ELI’s UM Advisory class.
