Course Description:

Online Marketing Measurement is a 4-week course designed to provide an understanding of online marketing strategy and incorporate the use of analytical and leading online marketing tools. Learn to use Google Analytics and receive an overview of independent tracking and analytical tools to help you monitor and measure your online marketing effectiveness. Throughout the course, you'll also discover tips and tools to ensure long-term mastery of online marketing so you can sustain and grow your knowledge of online and social media marketing as the field continually evolves.

In this class, you will learn how to:

  • Use Google Analytics to monitor and enhance website performance
  • Utilize various tools to monitor performance of your own website and competitor sites
  • Find and use various resources to stay abreast of changes in this fast-moving field
  • Integrate your marketing efforts to ensure cohesive branding and messaging strategy
  • Study for and pass the Inbound Marketing Certification exam offered by HubSpot Academy

By the end of class, students will have learned to use Google Analytics and several other resources to monitor and measure website performance. Students will also where to go to stay informed about changes in the online and social media marketing field so that their knowledge does not become outdated.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will receive a certificate and an award of 1.2 CEUs.

This 4-week course on Online Marketing Measurement is the last segment in the Online & Social Media Marketing Certificate Program. Students are welcome to take all five courses, earning the full certificate and 6 CEUs, or pick and choose any of the individual courses in the program.

About the Instructor: Karen Porter

Karen Porter is a Missoula native with 25 years marketing experience.  She spent 10 years leading marketing functions for two multi-billion dollar companies, 11 years teaching marketing at the University of Montana, and has owned or co-owned several small businesses.  Being involved in internet marketing since 1998, she brought her digital experience to the classroom in 2011 when she introduced the first university-level online and social media marketing course in the state of Montana.  She currently owns Impact Online Marketing offering digital marketing strategy, website development, search engine optimization, and social media services.  Her website, ImpactOnlineMarketing.com, features marketing information, free tips, and recommended marketing resources for small business owners.
