Mission
Statement
Continuing Education exemplifies The University of
Montana’s commitment to educational leadership through
quality, innovative outreach programs that serve the lifelong
learning needs of the citizens of Montana and beyond. This
leadership is accomplished through partnerships with on and
off campus entities to provide educational access to anyone,
anytime, anywhere. In addition, CE’s state-of-the-art
facility is designed to accommodate events in a professional,
customer friendly atmosphere.
Goals
Statement
The goals of Continuing Education at UM-M are to
serve the lifelong learning needs of the citizens of Montana
and beyond, by:
- Offering
a wide array of credit and non-credit programs that reflect
the programs and expertise of UM’s schools and colleges
while meeting the educational needs of lifelong learners
- Developing programs in a
professional manner through needs assessment; program delivery;
assessment; and fiscal accountability
- Working with a variety of
external agencies and individuals to provide relevant, timely
and useful access to learning
- Developing focused training
programs that contribute to the economic development of
Montana and beyond
- Writing successful grant
and contract proposals for external funding for program
development and training activities
- Being fiscally accountable
by seeking support from a number of sources including grants,
contracts, sponsored and self-support programs
- Offering high quality instruction
using a variety of delivery formats including online teaching
and learning that make education available “wherever
and whenever” students require it
