• Exploring the Consent Process: Perspectives of IRB Members and Rural Research Participants a study supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF). This two year grant began September 1, 2008.

Completed Research Studies

• Advancing Patient Safety in Rural Settings, a study supported by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. This four year study was conducted from September 30, 2001 through September 29, 2005. 
• Ethics: A Bridge for Communities and Scientists (E-ABCs), a project supported by the National Institute for Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) This five year study was conducted from September 30, 2002 throught September 29, 2008.

• Rural Bioethics Studies These studies were conducted from December 15, 1997 through June 30, 2002.
