Steps for Checking Your Java Plug-in Version
Follow these steps to see if you have Java Plug-in 1.6.23 installed on your computer. If you already have this version of Java on your computer, you don’t need to re-install it.
To check in advance, there are two options:
1. In your system tray, if Java is in use, the Java icon will display. Right click on this icon. If you have 1.6.0_23 listed, you have the most current version of the Java plug-in and you do not need to do anything else.

2. If the Java icon does not display in the system tray, go to your Control Panel:
Go to: Start / Control Panel
- Right click on the Java icon and select Open.

If you do not have the most current version of Java, please go to the Banner support website to review the installation instructions and link to the Java website, where the download is located. NOTE: You must have administrative privileges on your computer in order to perform the install. If you don’t or don’t know, please contact your departmental IT support staff for assistance.
